Afro-Peruvian quintet plays original takes on classic songs of the genre, a unique acoustic sound featuring strings (guitars, cello) and percussion (cajón, congas, etc.) that shows the gentle and melodic side of Latin American Music.
Laura Anstee – prize winning cellist from the Royal Academy of Music. She went through the usual channels of orchestras and chamber music, playing with the Philarmonias New London Soloists as well as Kanye West, Jay-Z and Beyoncé. She has made a new career in world music specializing in Klezmer and gypsy music with the groups She'Koyokh and Kosmos while also developing a role in these groups for the Lyra – an ancient and unique Cretan bowed instrument.
Sara Farina, also known as soulful-horse artist Scarpi, studied at City University followed by a varied career teaching music technology and performing her own original music. She sings with Rhythms of the City and Son Veneno.
Stefano Kalonaris settled in London to study Jazz guitar but now specialises in Latin American styles as a Tres player in Cuban Son bands and a seven string guitar with his own Brazilian chorinho groups Regional Bola Oita while still retaining the funky jazz outfit, Stefano Kalonaris Group.
Carlos Fuentes is one of the most experienced Latin percusionnists in London. Escaping Pinochet's Chile he was one of the founders and teachers of the London School of Samba. He is playing professionally with King Salsa, Bosco de Oliveira's Grupo Folia, Arakatuba, Yasmin Levy among many others.
