Nick Ramm studied with pianists Simon Purcell and John Taylor and percussion with Bosco De Oliveira. He has worked in the UK and abroad with Jean Toussaint, Anthony Kerr, Ravi Coltrane, Pete King, Jim Mullen, Byron Wallen, Dave O'Higgins, Dennis Rollins and Tony Remy. Bandleader of his own circus-adventure quintet Clown Revisited, he has established himself as one of the most imaginative young players on the London's jazz scene after leaving Guildhall's postgraduate jazz course. A regular sideman of Byron Wallen amongst many others, his unique sound has formed an irreplaceable part of Jade Fox along with co leaders Tom Herbert, Tom Skinner and David Okumu. He plays the Balafon and percussion with 'Timeline', 'Meta Meta' and other similar groups featuring traditional African and jazz dancers. In 2005 he toured with the Matthew Herbert Band and The Cinematic Orchestra in 2006.
