For the acclaimed singer/songwriter's debut album 'Not Alone', Julia Biel teamed up with F-IRE member Jonny Phillips to write and produce a deeply individual recording with a group comprising some of the UK's finest musicians. Born and raised in the UK but with a cultural heritage that spans continents, both Biel and her collaborator Phillips have diverse musical influences. The result is an original and intoxicating sound laced with world folk and possessing a cinematic quality, which is characterized by delicate yet epic arrangements woven out of acoustic instrumentation.
