Ben Reynolds [drums] Joe Auckland [trumpet] Ben Somers [tenor saxophone] Bob Dowell [trombone] Mike Lesirge [alto sax] Ed Sheldrake [piano]
The Will Collier septet was born back in 2004 out of Collier's early excercises in four part horn writing and from house mates Collier, Reynolds, Somers and Auckland's regular jams at their infamous Haringey jazz house which was also home to Gwylim Simcock, James Allsop and Dave Manington. The composing style has evolved over the last four years now incorporating contrapuntal horn writing textures, counterpoint, introducing odd time signatures and often modern dance grooves and folk type melodic themes. And the band, having played extensively in London at venues such as Ronnie Scotts, The Jazz Café and The Vortex, have honed their tight, original band "feel".

"A young, British double bassist leads a dynamite septet stylistically recalling the likes of Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, Tin Hat Trio, Bad Plus and Medeski Martin and Wood. Very impressive" – Jazzwise
